Jamie & Jack’s Spring National Aviary Wedding | Pittsburgh Film & Digital Wedding Photographer
Jamie and Jack’s spring wedding in Pittsburgh’s North Side was deeply connected to their story. From sentimental family heirlooms to tearing up the dance floor with their closest friends and family who traveled from near and far, every part of their day reflected the life they’ve built together. One of love for their people and for a darn good time.
Jamie and Jack first met while at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Like many great love stories, theirs began in college and continued to grow.
After college, and a few amazing years living in Boston, the two found themselves back in Pittsburgh, ready to put down roots in the city where their story began.
Their wedding was on a perfect May day, with spring in full bloom across Pittsburgh. The entire day embraced a fresh garden-inspired aesthetic, featuring soft greens, blush pinks and white florals by Studio Fleuraison.
Jamie spent the morning getting ready at the historic Boggs Mansion. The timeless interiors provided the perfect setting for a relaxed start to the day. Jack got ready just a few blocks away at their apartment on the Northside.
Before the ceremony, Jamie & Jack did a first look in Allegheny Commons Park. Jamie’s dad drove her to the meeting spot in his vintage BMW and Jack helped her from the car. Photographing with the car was a beautiful connection between generations because it’s the same one that Jamie’s parents used on their own wedding day.
The National Aviary is one of Pittsburgh’s most unique wedding venues, and it was the perfect choice for Jamie and Jack’s day. Right in the heart of the North Side, the venue feels like a secret garden. It’s easy to forget you’re in the city. The overall feeling was romantic, organic, and effortlessly elegant.
While the details were beautiful, what stood out most about Jamie and Jack’s wedding day were the people. Jamie’s grandfather pulled out her childhood stuffed animal during his speech, their mutual friend from Boston officiated their ceremony, and the best man and two maid of honors gave heartfelt speeches.
Jamie and Jack’s wedding was a perfect reflection of who they are: joyful, thoughtful, family-oriented, and completely in love.
